About Us
Temescal Brewing is a small, independently-owned craft brewery in Oakland, California, dedicated to making approachable beer and fostering an inclusive community. We're looking for a creative and thoughtful Social Media Manager to help tell our story, showcase our beer, and support our many events.
The Role
We're seeking a hands-on social media professional who can take ownership of our content strategy and execution. This role combines creative content production, social media management, and community engagement. You'll be responsible for planning, shooting, and creating content; maintaining a consistent brand voice; and helping drive awareness for the brewery. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves craft beer, Oakland, and creating fun content.
Responsibilities
Own and manage the brewery's Content Planner
Develop and execute a consistent content strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and other relevant platforms
Regularly shoot and edit content on-site, including:
Beer releases
Taproom experience
Events and live music
Staff spotlights
Behind-the-scenes brewery content
Create engaging reels, stories, posts, and other short-form content
Write compelling copy that reflect the brewery's voice and personality
Schedule and publish content according to the content calendar
Monitor comments, inbound messages, and community feedback
Track performance metrics and provide periodic reporting
Collaborate with brewery staff to identify storytelling opportunities
Qualifications
Share our core values of inclusivity, community, and approachability
One year experience managing social media account professionally
Strong photography and videography skills using a smartphone and/or camera
Proficiency with content editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging social media trends
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to work independently and proactively generate content ideas
Reliable transportation and ability to visit the brewery regularly for content capture
Appreciation for craft beer, hospitality, food & beverage, or Bay Area culture is a plus
